Are you a knitaddict? A wool addict? A serial knitter? To check if you are a knitting addict, here are some sentences to gauge the degree of your addiction ;P
When you are looking at a sweater in a shop and you say : “I don’t need to buy, I can knit it !”.
When you have your shelves overflowing with yarn…but you continue to buy anyway !
When you languish the next long car journeys, because you know you’ll be able to knit all along !
When you start everyday words by “knit” (knitfriend, knitmeetings, knitaddict…)
When you can knit and watch TV at the same time
When you make a mistake by calling your loved ones and calling them “knitting” #truestory (also equals for “wool”, “skein” and other accessories)
When you start saying “one more row and it’s good”
When you prefer to buy yarn rather than clothes
If you have met all the criteria, I have the honor and the privilege to announce you that you are officially a knitting addict! 😀 If you have not filled everything, it’s okay, you’re on your way to become a little beetle 😉
Personally, I quickly became hooked. I can consider having found the manual activity that I missed, the one that would occupy most of my evenings (when I’m not working on writing my memoir – strongly that it ends so that I go back to knitting full time ^^).
Often, people ask me why I knit so much … I tell you everyone who reads me, knitting may not be easy, the knitting may seem cheesy and yet it is an activity that we makes us feel good (and this has been widely proven scientifically)! It helps us to overcome the daily hassle and can help us increase our personal confidence.
It is an activity that has been able to modernize and is found on the internet, youtube, specialized communities like Ravelry or forums. It is at the same time generous and deeply human where each and everyone shares around one and the same passion, even if our fibers, our experiences are different. I’m not afraid to say it: I like to knit and it does not matter to me to be a knit’addict. On the contrary, I am proud of it! 😀
And you knitters, are you knit’addict? What do you think of the knit’addiction? 😉
